In order to provide the most secure and up-to-date technology for our clients, HostSEO will be reviewing and updating the versions of cPanel, MySQL and PHP on our shared servers.

Since this is not a hardware upgrade, you will not experience any downtime or service interruption. You should, however, be aware that since all servers will be upgraded to the latest release of PHP (5.3.X). Version 5.2.17 has reached its EOL (End of Life) and version 5.3 is more robust and secure. As such, you may experience some PHP compatibility issues with older scripts developed for PHP 5.2. We suggest you review your sites and ensure that your scripts are up-to-date. Resellers should pass this information on to their clients.

To determine if your server is scheduled to be updated simply log in to any of your cPanel accounts and check the PHP version in the stats column on the left side of the screen. If it reads PHP 5.2.17 than that server is scheduled to be updated.

Updates are scheduled to start on Friday, September 7th, 2012. And will be completed withing Monday, September 10th, 2012.
