Discontinued hosting features
Monday, March 12, 2012
Some features of cPanel have been discontinued due to cPanel upgrades or removed for security reasons.
1. FrontPage Server Extensions
Server-side scripts for extending FrontPage created websites.
2. Ruby on Rails
A programming language and toolkit combination no longer supported by HostSEO, due to many high server load issues.
3. BoxTrapper Spam Trap
The BoxTrapper Spam Trap was a spam filter that included white and black lists. BoxTrapper protects your inbox from spam by forcing all people not on your white list to reply to a verification email before they can send mail to you. Users who are not on your white list will not be able to send you any emails. It has been removed from the cPanel options as it was considered a security risk.
4. NeoMail
NeoMail was one of three webmail options available through cPanel. It is a Unix-based application written in Perl. It has now been discontinued in later releases of cPanel.
Removal of Neomail
cPanel has recently dropped support for Neomail due to it being unreliable and causing a number of server issues. Customers on servers with the latest version of cPanel will notice that Neomail is no longer displayed as part of the Webmail clients. When all servers have the latest cPanel installed Neomail will no longer be available. We suggest all customers start using Horde or SquirrelMail.
